Report-A-Weed

It is easy to report weeds using the BC Government smartphone application Report-A-Weed BC.

Land ownership (Crown or Private land) determines the best way to submit a report of an invasive species.

Crown Land Reports

For Invasive Plants located on Crown land, report the species of concern on-line at: Report-A-Weed BC.

Download the mobile app for Android and iPhone (sorry folks, not for iPads). This app allows members of the public to report weeds while they are on the go or in the field. Reports submitted in the Report-A-Weed app are entered into the BC Provincial Invasive Alien Plant Program (IAPP) database, and verified by staff on the ground.

The IAPP website also provides a way to report weeds directly into the BC Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations – Invasive Alien Plant Program (IAPP).

Either way, the information that you report is used to help with Invasive Plant Management efforts in the East Kootenays!

If you prefer, you can always report weeds directly to the East Kootenay Invasive Species Council by phoning 1-888-55-EKISC, or emailing our This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to report a sighting.
